Loneliness is a real illness. There are people who can’t be alone. Loneliness is defined as a distressing feeling that accompanies the perception that one’s social needs are not being met by the quantity or especially the quality of one’s social relationships (Hawkley and Cacioppo). This occurs when you become disconnected with society. The definition listed was a psychology definition. Not everyone hates loneliness. There are people who prefer to be alone. I believe the people who suffer from loneliness are those who suffer from depression.
These people feel like they have no one. Even when family try to contact, it’s not enough. It’s sad, but this is real. One main solution would be to keep in touch with your family and friends. If you don’t communicate with your family or have shunned them, you can talk to your friends. If you have no friends, you can journal. You can do daily activities and make friends. There are billions of human beings on this planet.
The best way to overcome loneliness is to map the source of the problem and fix it. You have to be healthy mentally to solve this. I listed some things you can do, but none of them will work if you don’t fix yourself first. Take yourself out hear and there. Take yourself to dinner and enjoy yourself. There is nothing wrong with being alone. Loneliness is a serious sad problem that is fixable.
